World Traveler & PhotographerHow I Became a World Traveler
To me, becoming a world traveler was born out of a deep yearning for something more—an insatiable curiosity about what lies beyond the familiar corners of my life.
Travel, at its core, represents excitement about the unknown—the thrill of stepping off a plane or train into a place I’ve never been, where every street, sound, and scent holds a mystery waiting to be unraveled. It’s about seeing the world through fresh eyes and feeling like a child again, filled with wonder at every new discovery.
It is an escape from the mundane—a break from the rhythm of daily routines, and the never-ending to-do lists, and the sense that life is moving on autopilot. Travel shatters monotony and replaces it with spontaneity and adventure. One day, I’m wandering through an ancient temple in Kyoto; the next, I’m gazing across the boundless salt flats of Bolivia. Each moment feels alive, vibrant, and free of the weight of routine responsibilities.
Travel is a way to lose myself to find myself. Immersing myself in new cultures, tasting unfamiliar foods, and hearing stories from people whose lives are so different from my own has helped me discover who I am and who I want to be.
At its heart, being a world traveler is about new discoveries—not just of places, but of perspectives, cultures, and myself. Every journey reminds me of the vastness of the world and how much there is to learn. It’s humbling to witness both the differences that make each place unique and the shared humanity that ties us all together.
Travel is more than just visiting new destinations; it’s a mindset—a commitment to growth, curiosity, and wonder. It has shaped me into an adventurer and a seeker of beauty in every corner of the globe. Whether I’m exploring ancient ruins or sharing laughter with strangers over a meal, I know that travel will forever be the lens through which I see the world and, ultimately, myself.

2. Malaysia
I lived in Malaysia in 1998-99, and fell in love with its lush rainforest, rolling tea plantations, friendly people, and vibrant multicultural heritage that reflects Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences.
3. Maldives
My first tropical paradise is Maldives, renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise lagoons, vibrant coral reefs, and pristine white-sand beaches. But it was the people I met that made this experience truly unforgetable.
